Microsoft has put up $250,000 for information leading to the author(s) of the Conficker Worm.
It’s good to see a major company putting money up as an incentive to put an end to malware especially since most of the incentive for malware is for financial gain it might be possible that the cash award will be enough to get somone to come forward. As I imagine that this approach will take a long time to have any effect make certain that your Windows Computer is patched up to date and since it’s been found moving about via USB drives you should be careful with USB drives from unknown sources ( a common tactic has been to leave pre-infected USB drives in public places and when the drive is placed in a computer it uploads the malware to the victims machine) The best protection is a full featured antivirus software and since Conficker and it’s over 300 variants have been infecting computers since November 2008.
